Twisted Networking began its journey in January 2017 with our inaugural event at Jacky's Galaxy in North Providence, RI. Launched to address the gaps in traditional networking experiences, Twisted Networking was founded on Jevonya Allen's personal journey through various event formats. Jevonya appreciated the structure of some events but found them too rigid, particularly as a single mother. Conversely, more relaxed events lacked the structure needed for productive networking. Additionally, navigating events with overwhelming attendee numbers, as an introvert, proved challenging for her. Recognizing the need for a balanced approach, Twisted Networking blends the best elements from diverse event formats, offering a unique networking experience that prioritizes both structure and enjoyment.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic reshaped our operations, Twisted Networking experienced rapid growth. We expanded our footprint by recruiting facilitators to host events not only in Rhode Island and Massachusetts but also in North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia. At our peak, we managed 15 simultaneous events. However, the shift to virtual platforms during the pandemic led to a temporary consolidation, with our Founder, Jevonya Allen, personally hosting our online events.

Initially a modest monthly lunch gathering, our community has quickly grown into a global network that spans continents. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, our reach expanded exponentially, connecting professionals from Malaysia, Africa, Peru, Canada, Brazil, Grenada, the UK, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, and across the United States.

Looking ahead, we are excited to reintroduce facilitators into our network, aiming to expand our reach and nurture meaningful connections both online and in-person. Twisted Networking remains dedicated to providing comfortable and engaging networking opportunities that transcend borders and unite professionals worldwide.
